Wombsong is a community based singing circle open to all mothers, mothers-to-be (including trying to conceive), birth workers and women who love to sing. Prepare for labor and life through vocal toning and breathing exercises, strengthen your connection to yourself and your baby through sound, and discover a deeper sense of your own voice and power. Learn beautiful, simple songs and lullabies from around the world.
No musical experience necessary.
No one turned away for lack of funds.
Wombsong, U.S. is Co-Founded and Co-Led by Amanda West and Megan Jacobsmeyer.
The name Womb Song came from Maya Waldman, a community musician and singer in the U.K. Through a grant, she created and led prenatal singing circles at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. We are grateful for her generosity and support in helping bring Wombsong to the U.S. Learn more about Maya: http://singingforeveryone.co.uk/
If you have birthed beyond the Wombsong stage and are looking for a place to sing with your baby, we highly recommend Mothersong. http://www.mothersong.org/
Megan Jacobsmeyer and Amanda West are also available as Birth Doulas, for Blessing ways, to sing with you during any point of your labor and for special events. Please contact them about these services.
